Samsung Electronics has spent more on semiconductors than any of its global competitors over the past few of years... as it bids to lead the global market.<br />According to market researcher IC Insights Thursday,... the South Korean tech giant's capital expenditure on semiconductors from 2017 to 2019 amounted to 65-point-eight billion U.S. dollars.<br />Intel, the world's second largest spender, spent 43-billion dollars over the same period.<br />Samsung plans to make massive investments in memory chip infrastructure to prepare for long-term chip demand in the future.<br />Other leading chipmakers are also expected to have increased their investments.<br />
