A North Sea oil rig was subject to huge waves smashing against it as a storm brought bad weather off the coast of Scotland on October 29.<br /><br />Disorientating footage shows countless waves approach the oil rig as strong winds are heard in the audio.<br /><br />The filmer told Newsflare: "This is maybe a few times each winter, sometimes it can last for days on end.<br /><br />"I've worked in the industry for eight years and love to be among extreme weather, and this can be fairly typical of an offshore worker while out at sea over winter.<br /><br />"[There is] a sort of weird enjoyment can be had watching it smash into the structure and feel it move. <br /><br />"It's a true testament to the impressive engineering that our oil rig can withstand weather like this."
