홍콩서 시위대, 경찰이 쏜 실탄에 맞아 쓰러져<br /><br />The pro-democracy protests in Hong Kong are now into their sixth month and the death of a student last Friday has riled up protesters even more, sparking clashes with police. <br />And tensions intensified on Monday with local police reportedly firing live rounds at protesters.<br />Our Eum Ji-young has more. <br />Hong Kong police reportedly opened fire on Monday morning on people gathered for a rally.<br />One person was said to be hit by a bullet as the group paid their respect to a university student who died last Friday as a result of the chaos in the city.<br />According to the Hong Kong-based South China Morning Post, police fired live rounds at the demonstrators on the eastern side of Hong Kong island. <br />The violence comes after the death of the 22 year old Chow Tsz-lok energized the demonstrators who are already furious with the police's heavy-handed response to the protests. <br />Chow was pronounced dead in the hospital on Friday a few days after he fell from a parking building after the police fired tear gas at the group of protesters he was with. <br />This prompted tens of thousands of Hong Kongers to attend multiple memorial events in many locations, including at the garage where Chow fell to his death. <br />In multiple areas, activists blocked roads and trashed shopping malls.<br />Some train and subway lines were also blocked on Monday morning.<br />Eum Ji-young, Arirang News. <br />
