Horrifying moment two moving trains collide head-on in southern India

CCTV caught the shocking moment two moving trains collided head-on at a railway station in south India on the morning of November 11.<br /><br />The crash took place near Kacheguda Railway station near Hyderabad, and footage shows several coaches sent into the air in the collision. <br /><br />A few passengers can then be seen running out of the mangled coaches away from the accident site.<br /><br />The crash was caused multi-modal transport system (MMTS) train overshot the signal and collided with the Intercity Express (17028) at 10.41 am.<br /><br />The accident left 16 people injured, including a driver of the MMTS train, Shekar, who was trapped in his cabin and only rescued 8 hours later.<br /><br />All were safely evacuated from the scene and the injured passengers were conveyed to hospital, and no fatalities have been reported. <br /><br />Railway Public Relations Officer Ch rakesh said: "We have to find out what happened. A thorough probe would be carried out and we will take all steps to ensure better safety." <br /><br />Commissioner Railway Safety, Southern Central Circle Secunderabad, Ram Kripal will conduct an inquiry into the incident.
