San Antonio Spurs Retire <br />Tony Parker's No. 9 Jersey.<br />The ceremony took place on Monday night after <br />the Spurs game against the Memphis Grizzlies.<br />San Antonio selected Parker with the 28th overall pick in the 2001 NBA draft.<br />The French point guard played for <br />the Spurs for 17 seasons.<br />He won four NBA titles with the Spurs, including the 2007 NBA Finals MVP.<br />"Thanks for all those years. <br />It was a crazy ride." <br />- Tony Parker, via statement.<br />"If somebody has exhibited a long career of excellence on the field, on the court and at the same time done it with class ... a jersey retirement will naturally follow." <br />- Gregg Popovich, Spurs coach, via statement.<br />"It doesn't happen very often.
