Jimmy Carter Experiences ‘No<br />Complications’ During Brain Surgery.<br />On Nov. 12, Former President<br />Jimmy Carter underwent surgery<br />to relieve pressure on his brain. .<br />His procedure took place at the Emory<br />University Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia,<br />and occurred with “no complications.”.<br />According to the Carter Center, the pressure<br />was caused by bleeding in his brain, which was<br />likely a result of the two falls he took in October. .<br />Because of Carter’s age, the falls resulted in<br />a subdural hematoma, which is commonly<br />associated with severe head injuries. .<br />A subdural hematoma can cause symptoms that range<br />from headaches and memory loss to seizures and paralysis. .<br />Despite this, Carter has still remained<br />active in recent weeks, attending Sunday<br />school and making public appearances.<br />Carter is currently in the hospital recovering<br />from his surgery and will remain there for<br />“as long as advisable for observation.”
