U.S. military chief voices hope for resolution of Seoul-Tokyo intel-sharing pact

The Chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff has expressed hope of finding a way for South Korea and Japan to renew their military information-sharing pact before it expires next week.<br />According to Japan's Kyodo News Agency,... General Mark Milley made the remark on Tuesday following a meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe where the issue of the GSOMIA pact was discussed.<br />Milley hinted that he wants to try to resolve the issue when he arrives in Seoul on Wednesday.<br />He's scheduled to meet with the head of South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Park Han-ki on Thursday,... for the 44th Military Committee Meeting,... which are annual talks between the allies' JCS chairmen.<br />
