Shivpuri, Uttaranchal<br /><br />Verse by Kabir:<br />अमरपुरी ले चलु हो सजना ।<br />अमरपुरी की सँकरी गलियां<br />अड़बड़ ह्वै चढ़ना।<br />ठोकर लागी गुरज्ञान सबद की,<br />उधर गये झपना।<br />वाहि रे अमरपुर लागि बजारिया<br />सौदा है करना।<br />वाहि रे अमरपुर संत बसत है<br />दरसन है लहना ।<br />संत समाज सभा जहँ बैठी<br />वाहि पुरुष अपना ।<br />कहत कबीर सुनो भाई साधो<br />भवसागर है तरना ।<br /><br />O my Love!<br />do take me to that deathless land.<br />Uneven and narrow are its lanes<br />it is hard to go up there.<br />I recalled the Guru's words and went up<br />hoping to relax on reaching the goal.<br />Lo! the blessed land has come to sight,<br />O, here it is, its shops with wares<br />I wished to buy.<br />Here behold is the spot<br />where saints are sitting in a circle<br />I have to bow before them.<br />And amidst the saints<br />is my Love sitting!<br />Says Kabir - I have to cross<br />the sea of earthly life yet!
