Disney+ Warns of Content With
'Outdated Cultural Depictions'.
Disney+ launched Tuesday, opening
their vault of legendary films,
not all of which hold up today.
The company created a disclaimer
that reads, “This program is presented
as originally created. It may contain
outdated cultural depictions.”.
Films such as ‘Dumbo,’ ‘Peter Pan,’
‘The Jungle Book’ and a number of
Mickey Mouse shorts contain the message.
The animated 'Dumbo' film is one
example for the necessity of the
warning, with culturally-insensitive
characters like Jim Crow.
Though not all of the content contains
offensive material, Disney was sure to slap
the warning on several titles as a precaution
