The number of Korean companies in the world's top 5-hundred by market capitalization is down to just two.<br />According to Korea Exchange, Samsung Electronics is ranked 20th with a market cap of 268 billion U.S. dollars.<br />Chipmaker SK hynix was 267th on the list with 52 billion dollars.<br />Apple leads the ranking with a market cap of one-point-two trillion dollars,… with Microsoft and Google's Alphabet making up the top three.<br />Analysts say the fall can be attributed to the shift in industrial structure from manufacturing to IT …and Korea's export-dependent economy.<br />
