After Venice was ravaged by severe floods, Italy has declared a state of emergency in the city.<br />The decision came after a cabinet meeting on Thursday to provide 22 million U.S. dollars in funding to help Venice recover.<br />The city was engulfed by high water levels reaching almost 190 centimeters on Tuesday, the second highest water level ever recorded in the city.<br />The floods swallowed a UNESCO World Heritage Site and left two people dead.<br />
