"한일 국방장관 17일 회담…日 지소미아 종료 재고 요청"<br /><br />Our top story today, the defense chiefs of South Korea, the U.S. and Japan will meet in Thailand on Sunday to discuss the imminent termination of Seoul's military intel-sharing pact with Tokyo.<br />A source from Seoul's defense ministry said Saturday that Defense Minister Jeong Kyeong-doo will fly to Bangkok later in the day for talks with his Japanese counterpart Taro Kono, as well as trilateral talks with U.S. Secretary of Defense Mark Esper.<br />Topping the agenda will be Seoul's decision to end the GSOMIA pact, which is due to expire on November 23rd.<br />Washington and Tokyo want to maintain the pact, but Seoul has reiterated it will only reconsider if Japan first retracts its export restrictions on South Korea.<br />The meetings come on the sidelines of the 6th ASEAN Defense Ministers' Meeting-Plus which will be held through Monday. <br />
