Three jockeys fell off their horses in a series of shocking slips on a track in Bangalore (Bengaluru).<br /><br />The accident occurred during a 1200m race organised by Bangalore Turf Club (BTC) in the southern Indian city on 15 November.<br /><br />Jockey Suraj Narredu, riding Will To Win, looked set to clinch the contest but he fell in the final lap after his horse lost footing on the soft ground. <br /><br />Jockeys Y S Srinath and Kiran Rai, who were right behind him, also lost control and fell to the ground.<br /><br />While two of them managed to escape with just scrapes, Srinath had to be taken to a hospital with multiple bruises. <br /><br />Will To Win also broke her leg and had to be euthanised.<br /><br />With the three favourites out of the race, jockey Imtiaz Ali, riding the unfancied Naayab came first.<br /><br />The result angered punters who had put their money on the favourites. They went on a rampage, vandalising betting counters before being dispersed by the police.<br /><br />BTC officials have promised to inspect the track after several jockeys complained that it was soft in patches and not fit for riding.
