Members of the Arab Women Organization of Jordan held a protest near the Prime Ministry's building in Amman on Saturday.<br /><br />The sit-in, entitled "Enough is Enough", was a protest against violence towards women and in solidarity with a woman whose husband gouged her eyes out in Jerash Governorate last week.<br /><br />Participants in the protest urged tougher penalties for those who commit violence against women.<br /><br />They also called for dialogue sessions with officials and members civil society organisations, to improve the legal situation of women in the country.
