문 대통령 아세안 특별정상회의서 10개국 정상과 연달아 정상회담<br /><br />Just one week from now, Korea will host 10 leaders from the ASEAN member states,... for a pair of special summits in the Southeastern port city of Busan.<br />President Moon Jae-in hopes to strengthen Seoul's partnership with those countries,... and map out a blueprint for future cooperation,... through separate one-on-one meetings with all of the leaders present. <br />Our Shin Se-min starts us off. <br />President Moon Jae-in will handle a jam-packed diplomatic schedule in the coming weeks,... as he plays host to all 10 ASEAN member nations in the 2019 ASEAN-Korea Commemorative Summit and the first Mekong-Korea Summit.<br />South Korea's presidential office announced Sunday that the president plans to sit down with the leaders of all 10 countries visiting Korea for the special summits-- before, during and after the meetings,... set to take place in the country's port city of Busan for three days from November 25th. <br />The top office added the summit will allow South Korea to engage in "wide-ranging and in-depth" discussions on ways to upgrade partnerships on trade, infrastructure, defense and people-to-people exchanges.<br />The President also hopes to draw further support for his vision of peace on the Korean Peninsula.<br />"Through the summit meetings, the leaders will reaffirm ASEAN's support for the Moon administration's peace process, and also discuss ways to further establish peace and prosperity beyond the Korean Peninsula."<br />On top of the multilateral summit meetings,... the President will hold one-on-ones in Seoul with the Singaporean Prime Minister and Brunei's Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkia before heading down to Busan.<br />For his first two days in Busan,... President Moon will also sit down with the leaders of Thailand, Indonesia, Cambodia, Philippines, Myanmar and Laos.<br />Back in Seoul,... meetings with Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc on the 27th and with the Malaysian PM are also scheduled on back-to-back days. <br />This will be Moon's second time meeting with the ASEAN leaders-- as the President had toured all 10 countries in the first half of his term. <br />The presidential office sees the latest gathering as an opportunity to cement relations while mapping out a clearer blueprint for future cooperation.<br />"With the ASEAN-KOREA Commemorative Summit happening under the slogan of partnership for peace, prosperity for people-- the presidential office hopes to solidify the administration's resolve in building people-centered peace community with the visiting 10 ASEAN nations.<br />Shin Se-min, Arirang News." <br />
