Three people were killed and five others remain trapped after a building collapsed in southern Thailand on Thursday (November 21).<br /><br />The labourers, all from Burma, were working on a new petrol station when the concrete roof suddenly gave way and fell on them at around 1.30pm local time on the island of Phuket.<br /><br />Three people were retrieved from the rubble while five remain trapped inside. Fire crews and paramedics were this afternoon battling to reach those who were injured.<br /><br />The footage shows the rescue team moving and smashing the 15 centimeters cement roof to try to reach the victims. <br /><br />One rescue worker at the scene said: "The building collapsed around 1.30pm and we have already spent an hour trying to reach the other workers who were trapped under the big concrete roof."<br /><br />Phuket is an island in the Andaman Sea that is popular with tourists.
