CHICAGO — American architectural firm Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill has unveiled updated design plans to build a 1,422-foot tall skyscraper in Chicago.<br /><br />The top of the tower will curve inwards.<br /><br />The skyscraper is part of a larger project that includes an overhaul of nearby buildings as well as the iconic Tribune Tower.<br /><br />The structure will include commercial spaces as well as parking at the bottom, Dezeen reports. The building's upper part will include a hotel, rental apartments and condominiums.<br /><br />Upon completion, the skyscraper would become Chicago's second tallest building, surpassing Trump International Hotel & Tower, which stands at 1,380 feet.<br /><br />Developers of the project are still waiting for zoning approval, reports the Chicago Tribune. <br /><br />The designers of the skyscraper updated their initial plans as residents of the area raised concerns about traffic and security near the Chicago River.
