Stunning frozen methane bubbles were spotted in northern China's Lotus Lake on November 25.<br /><br />The video, filmed in the city of Mohe in Heilongjiang Province, shows several white circular disks piling up on each other inside a frozen lake.<br /><br />According to reports, the lowest temperature is around -30C in the city.<br /><br />The methane gas released from the decaying plants on the lake bed creates bubbles which are then trapped within the ice and freeze into circular disk shapes.
