PORT ST. LUCIE, FLORIDA — A Florida dog decided to take his owner's car for a quick spin around the cul-de-sac last week in Port St. Lucie. <br />According to Port St. Lucie police in a statement to the New York Post, the owner apparently made a wrong turn onto the street, which prompted her to stop and get out of the vehicle to assess her situation. <br />She then absent mindedly closed the door with the car still running and her black labrador Max inside. <br />According to WPTV, that's when Max hopped into the driver's seat and popped the car into reverse. <br />Max then proceeded to do doughnuts slowly in reverse for about an hour or so as neighbors, and eventually police watched on. <br />He was doing pretty well too, not hitting anything—at first. In the end, he did love tap a mailbox and some garbage cans, but let's give him a break. It WAS his first time behind the wheel. <br />WPTV reports that police finally put a stop to the joyride after punching in the passcode into the driver's side door. <br /><br />Police say no one was hurt in the oh-so-Florida-esque incident. <br /><br />As for Max, maybe he'll spin this into a part-time job as an Uber or Lyft driver.
