This is the harrowing moment a mother confessed knowing that she knew her son was being raped by his brother during the eighties.<br /><br />The recording from November 5 sheds light on over thirty years of secrecy and sexual abuse within the family.<br /><br />The victim, 40, tells his mother, 73, that his brother raped and abused him while living in Atlanta, Georgia from 1987 to 1988.<br /><br />She shockingly replies that she not only just knew but knew the abuser had therapy because of his actions.<br /><br />The conversation heard in the recording hears: "I kept it in for 31 years.<br /><br />"And I need to talk to you about it a little bit," says the son.<br /><br />His mother responds saying: "Oh, he told me about it when he moved out."<br /><br />With an audible shock, the son responds: "I don't know... You've known about it?!"<br /><br />His mother replies: "Well he went to therapy."<br /><br />At this point in the audio, the victim can be heard being overrun with emotions upon hearing this shocking revelation.<br /><br />The son replies: "You've known about it since I was a child?"<br /><br />Mother: "Yes, he had to go to therapy for it."<br /><br />Son: "Did you ever say anything to me?"<br /><br />Mother: "No I didn't."<br /><br />Son: "Why didn't you ever say anything to me?"<br /><br />Mother: "I don't know, I was waiting for you to tell me I guess."<br /><br />Son: "Do you know how ashamed I felt, do you know how he brutalised me?"<br /><br />Mother: "I know."<br /><br />The filmer told Newsflare: "My mother and I had a conversation about my abuse as a child. <br /><br />"She knew the entire time and chose to treat my abuser to therapy while I was left to figure it out on my own.<br /><br />"There are people that need help and are too afraid like I was."<br /><br />Since this video was posted online the filmer and his own family have relocated from Washington D.C to Reno, Nevada.
