A suspected bank robber was taken to hospital on Saturday (November 30th) after leaping from a subway platform in New York to avoid arrest.<br /><br />Police pursued the man on foot suspecting he had robbed Santander Bank in Astoria.<br /><br />Police apprehended the men after he jumped from an elevated subway platform onto the street below where witnesses said he hit his head.<br /><br />Police said the injuries appeared not to be life-threatening
