The Marina Beach in Chennai, south India is covered with multiple layers of white foam caused by pollution flowing into the ocean. <br /><br />This has recurred frequently since October, with footage seen here from November 29 showing the foam covering a 7km stretch of coast from Foreshore estate to Thiruvanmiyur. <br /><br />Reportedly heavy rains had brought down chemical compounds and organic substrates into the ocean that whipped up the foam.
