Nearly 700,000 People to Lose <br />Food Stamps With USDA Rule Change.<br />The Trump Administration <br />finalized new work requirements <br />for those on the Supplemental <br />Nutrition Assistance Program.<br />The original rule required those between <br />the ages of 18 and 49 who are childless <br />and not disabled to work at least 20 hours <br />a week for more than three months.<br />The new rule restricts states from waiving the <br />requirement in areas with high unemployment <br />and instead requires a 6 percent unemployment rate.<br />The USDA claims the change will save the <br />government $5.5 billion over five years.<br />The change is set to go <br />into effect April 1, 2020
