Jimmy Kimmel Releases First<br />Children’s Book ‘The Serious Goose’.<br />On Dec. 3, Kimmel made <br />his authorial debut with the<br />self-written and self-illustrated <br />children’s book.<br />Kimmel said his inspiration came from the<br />playful “goose” nickname he has for<br />his five-year-old daughter, Jane.<br />When she was little, when she was in a<br />bad mood, I’d say, ‘Are you a serious goose<br />or a silly goose?’ … So I call her ‘Goose,’ and<br />I am just tickled by the idea that there would<br />be a serious goose if there was a silly one, Jimmy Kimmel, to ‘People’.<br />According to Kimmel, ‘The Serious Goose’ was<br />a chance to revisit his former dream career path<br />of illustration, a process he called “difficult.”.<br />It is what I wanted to do: be an artist of some<br />kind ... I just kept drawing over and over and<br />over again until I had it. The hard part was<br />the lettering, really.
