A leopard attacked a stray dog after entering a residential area in the west Indian state of Maharashtra, in this chilling CCTV footage.<br /><br />The incident took place near the SEEPZ Metro station in Andheri (East), a locality in the western part of Mumbai on the night of December 9.<br /><br />The leopard can be seen waiting near the sidewalk to strike and stealthily walking towards the dog.<br /><br />It then climbs a few stairs and drags the dog down, piercing its sharp teeth across the quadruped's neck.<br /><br />However, the leopard's joy was short-lived as a guard soon reached the spot and raised the alarm. The leopard then panicked and dropped the dog. <br /><br />Meanwhile, the dog, seemingly dead, woke up and chased off the leopard, much to the surprise of the locals, who later saw the CCTV recordings.<br /><br />The guard later reported the leopard's presence to the forest department.<br /><br />Though grievously injured, the dog is said to be stable now.
