Elizabeth Warren Reveals <br />'Blue New Deal' for Our Oceans.<br />The 2020 candidate's latest plan <br />draws similarities to the <br />proposed 'Green New Deal.'.<br />Under the 'Blue Deal,' thousands of jobs would be created through investing in offshore wind farms.<br />In turn, the use of offshore drilling <br />would gradually cease.<br />Jobs would also be created from <br />improvements to U.S. fisheries.<br />Warren's plan offers oil rig workers a chance <br />to train for new jobs and receive retirement benefits.<br />The Massachusetts senator also calls <br />for these new gigs to be unionized.<br />She goes on to propose that public housing should not <br />be built in areas where there are rising sea levels.<br />In spots where flooding has forced people from <br />public homes, Warren wants to provide "recovery aid.".<br />The proposal also lists the National Oceanic Atmospheric Association (NOAA) to build a blue carbon program.<br />The program would gather materials such as kelp <br />to absorb carbon emissions in the atmosphere.<br />How much would all of this cost?.<br />According to Warren's campaign, it would take <br />$3 trillion to make the 'Blue New Deal' happen.<br />To get the funds, she has offered to <br />seal corporate tax holes and <br />halt fossil fuel subsidies
