Oscar-Nominated Actor <br />Danny Aiello Dead at 86.<br />Aiello's death has been <br />confirmed by his literary <br />agent, Jennifer De Chiara.<br />The world has lost one of its greatest actors who also happened to be a wonderful human being. He will <br />be missed, Jennifer De Chiara, <br />via 'USA Today'.<br />Details about his death <br />have not yet been revealed.<br />Before starting his acting career <br />in his mid-30s, Aiello worked as a <br />Greyhound bus employee and bouncer.<br />He went on to appear in films such as, <br />'The Godfather: Part II,' 'Moonstruck' <br />and 'The Purple Rose of Cairo.'.<br />Aiello's other movie credits include <br />'Once Upon a Time in America' and <br />'Leon: The Professional.'.<br />He is best known for portraying a pizza shop owner in Spike Lee's <br />1989 movie, 'Do the Right Thing.'.<br />His role as Sal earned Aiello <br />an Oscar nomination for <br />best supporting actor
