Public transport workers in Madrid staged a 24-hour strike and held protests in the Spanish capital.<br /><br />It is the latest action in an ongoing dispute with EMT (Empresa Municipal de Transportes de Madrid), the city-owned body that runs public transport in the capital.<br /><br />Coming as the city also hosted the UN 'COP25' climate talks, the strike and associated protests caused significant transport disruption.<br /><br />The unions want an immediate increase in the workforce and measures to improve the quality of the service, in addition to a firm commitment not to privatise EMT.
