A toll booth plaza and a bus were set ablaze in the latest protests against India's newly-amended Citizenship Act.<br /><br />In Bahrampur Murshidabad District in West Bengal, passengers were forced off a bus by protesters who then set a number of busses ablaze.<br /><br />National Highway 34, one of the arterial roads that connects north and south Bengal, was blocked in Murshidabad.<br /> <br />The protests were the latest demonstrations against the new Citizenship Act, which allows persecuted religious minorities from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan to seek Indian citizenship, unless they are Muslim.<br /><br />While some people oppose the discriminatory aspect of the new law, many people in north eastern India in particular are concerned it could mean an influx of immigrants from Bangladesh.
