Hyderabad, Dec 16: The students of Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) staged a protest against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA) in Hyderabad on December 16. They were also protesting against the National Register of Citizens (NRC).<br /><br />A large number of students participated in the protest and raised slogans against the central government. Police personnel have been deployed to look after the law and order situation. <br /><br />President Ram Nath Kovind gave his assent to Citizenship (Amendment) Bill on December 13 which will give Indian citizenship to non-Muslim immigrants who faced persecution in three neighbouring countries- Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan. <br />
