Mississippi saw bands of inclement weather take over the skies above on December 16 as heavy rain and lightning thrashed the area of Mt. Olive.<br /><br />Footage shows glowing clouds with forks of lightning piercing through the skyline as well as rain battering down.<br /><br />The filmer told Newsflare: "A strong cold front swept across Mississippi bring tornadoes, lightning, strong winds, heavy rain, and vivid lightning.<br /><br />"This video was shot from Mt. Olive, MS along Highway 49N, a confirmed tornado was on this particular storm and lifted over the highway before touching down and causing extensive damage in Mize."
