At least one secret service officer was shot dead in a suspected terror attack on Russia’s spy HQ in Moscow last night.<br /><br />Three gunmen stormed the FSB service’s Lubyanka building killing a policeman outside and seriously wounding several staff as a gun battle erupted.<br />Two of the attackers were killed but the third fled and barricaded himself into a nearby block, exchanging fire with Spetsnaz special forces before being “neutralised.”.<br /><br />The suspected Islamic State attack was launched as president Vladimir Putin hosted an event saluting anti-terror agents across the city.<br /><br />FSB staff fled in panic and the forbidding former KGB building went into lockdown as at least ten gunshots rang out.<br /><br />One man was heard shouting “Stop! I said stop!” as the shooting continued.<br /><br />The Lubyanka attack came after Putin boasted that 54 terrorism related crimes - including 33 attacks - had been prevented by his security services this year.<br /><br />He spoke ahead of a concert marking an annual holiday Russian for security service staff today (Fri).<br /><br />Putin told staff: "Today, the clear, efficient and well-coordinated work of the security services has allowed us to achieve tangible success in ensuring Russia’s security.<br /><br />“I want to thank you and your colleagues for professionalism, courage and determination.”<br /><br />The policeman, who died at the scene, was identified later as Ilya Fisenko. Two men wounded were named as Alexander Zamchalin and Pavel Anisimov.<br /><br />All were understood to be FSB staff.<br />Secret service officer Konstantin Odnolepov, 35, was reported to have been shot in the head and was undergoing emergency surgery last night.<br /><br />Unconfirmed reports said as many as four people had been killed in the attack which started at a reception at the vast counterintelligence agency complex once headed by Putin.<br /><br />Gunmen reported to have been disguised in police uniforms opened fire at the Lubyanka’s Kuznetsky Most Street office of the FSB at 6.10pm local time.<br /><br />One of the attackers ran 300 metres to Vorovskogo Square and continued shooting after his two accomplices were killed.<br /><br />He barricaded himself inside a building Bolshaya Lubyanka Street where he continued to engage FSB and Spetsnaz fighters before being shot dead at 7.15pm.<br /><br />A young man at the scene said: "We just walked out of our offices when a man dressed in black with a machine gun started shooting.<br /><br />"He killed a traffic policeman, and went on further.
