Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was in the middle of a re-election campaign when his bodyguards suddenly escorted him to shelter following a rocket launch from the Gaza Strip.<br /><br />According to the Israeli military, a rocket was fired from the Gaza Strip against the southern Israeli city of Ashkelon, which lies 12km from the Palestinian enclave.<br /><br />There has been no claim of responsibility from Gaza for the rocket which the Israeli Military claims to have been shot down by their Iron Dome air defence system.
