A firefighter was killed and 14 others were injured after a battery factory caught fire and collapsed in Delhi on January 2. <br /><br />Up to 18 people were rescued from the factory in Peera Garhi, including two caretakers and a security guard. <br /><br />The deceased firefighter has been identified as Amit Balyan, 20.<br /><br />At least 35 fire engines were called in to fight the blaze, which was began the morning of January 2 and continued throughout the day. <br /><br />A blast was later reported from the factory while the rescue operations were underway trapping some fire brigade personnel among other people inside.<br /><br />The fire department has since issued a statement that the fire has been put out and everyone has been rescued from the factory.
