A cow in heat was pursued by seven bulls until she became trapped in an alley in eastern India on January 2.<br /><br />Desperate to find safety, the cow fled through the gates of a house in Nayapalli colony, Bhubaneshwar, Odisha. <br /><br />To save herself from the relentless bulls, the cow moved into the narrow space that separated the walls of two adjoining houses and squeezed herself between them. <br /><br />The residents of the house chased the bulls away, but couldn't rescue the terrified cow as she was badly stuck in the narrow two-feet wide space, which separated the walls. <br /><br />They called Amulya Kumar Nayak of People For Animals organisation to rescue the cow.<br /><br />Amulya reached the spot with his team and then called the fire brigade for help seeing how bad the situation was. <br /><br />The fire fighters tied up the front legs of the cow and gently dragged her out of the narrow space in a rescue effort lasting nearly two hours. <br /><br />The cow was treated for minor injuries and a broken horn. <br /><br />“During my 15 years of work as an animal rights activist, I had never come across such an incident,” said Amulya Kumar Nayak.
