Residents of Maunabo in south-east Puerto Rico were evacuated to higher ground as a 6.6 magnitude earthquake struck the island today (January 7).<br /><br />Footage shows traffic advancing up the highway as power outages bring darkness to a large chunk of the island.<br /><br />The filmer told Newsflare: "They were evacuating to the top of the mountain for issued tsunami warning.<br /><br />"At that moment we were calm, we were scared, we were sleeping, the light went out first, and then the strong tremor right now continues to shake."
