A massive swarm of locusts that moved through Pakistan into India has been consuming millions of dollars of crops from local farmland. <br /><br />The insects were recorded here swarming over a field in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, on January 3, but have been plaguing the area since May 2019. <br /><br />According to local farmers, since the government has done little to fight this menace, meaning the locusts keep raiding their farms and cleaning out their standing crops. <br /><br />According to the locals, the desert locust cannot fly long distances usually, but the wind helps them to cover large distances.
