The ongoing cold wave in north India has led to more snowfall in the upper reaches of the state of Uttarakhand. <br /><br />Video shot on January 9 near Palota shows layers of fresh snow forming a enchanting sight as it covers houses of the valley.<br /><br />Visuals show the beautiful aftermath of the heavy snowfall where the houses across the district are covered in snow, while local authorities work to clear the roads. <br /><br />According to reports, the most heavily affected places include Auli, Tharali, and Joshimath in Chamoli district. <br /><br />Predictions by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), claim that hailstorms, rainfall and more snow are expected to hit the state during the weekend.
