India is set to complete building the world's highest rail bridge measuring at 349-metres tall connecting the remote state of Jammu and Kashmir with the rest of the country.<br /><br />The bridge built over the Chenab river in Reasi district interlinking the town of Katra and Banihal.<br /><br />Visuals show the massive arch-shaped structure of the bridge which is under construction. <br /><br />According to the reports, over 5,462 tonnes of steel has been used to build the 359 meters high bridge over river-bed. <br /><br />The officials have informed that the overpass is designed to withstand wind speeds of up to 161.56 miles per hour. <br /><br />Reports also say that the deadline for the completion of the railway network is slated for December 2021. <br /><br />India will then surpass the current highest record of China's Shuibai railway bridge, which is of 275 metres.
