Motorists in northern India were stunned on Wednesday (January 8th) when a large avalanche slid down a mountainside and onto the road in front of them. <br /><br />The incident took place in Kinnaur district in the state of Himachal Pradesh.<br /><br />The clip shows motorists risking their lives to film as huge piles of snow are shunted towards them.<br /><br />Realising they may be in danger, one driver starts to shout "Go back! Go back!"<br /><br />At the end of the video, a van can be seen almost crushed at the side of the road by the great mounds of snow and ice.
