A major Popeyes franchisee said that the chain's famous chicken sandwich helped increase sales.<br />Carrols Restaurant Group Inc. operates 55 Popeyes restaurants in 23 states.<br />The company said Monday that preliminary same-store sales for its Popeyes stores rose 21.2% year-over-year.<br />This was in the fourth quarter reports Businss Insider.<br />The massive growth was encouraged, in part, by the chain's chicken sandwich, which went viral this past summer.
