Congress leader and former Haryana CM, Bhupinder Singh Hooda, on Citizenship (Amendment) Act asserted that no state can deny to any law or act if passed by Parliament. “Once a law or act is passed by the Parliament, I think that the constitutional view is that, any state can’t and should not say no but this has to be legally examined,” said Bhupinder Singh. <br />Nation-wide protests have strengthened since the implementation of CAA in December 2019. According to the present government, the amended act promises to provide Indian citizenship to non-Muslim immigrants from three neighbouring countries i.e., Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh.
