Netflix Acquires International<br />Rights to Studio Ghibli Films Netflix recently announced their exclusive<br />acquisition of 21 films from Studio Ghibli,<br />a beloved Japanese animation house. This includes iconic films such as<br />‘Spirited Away,’ ‘Princess Mononoke,’<br />’Kiki’s Delivery Service’ and ‘Castle in the Sky.’ The movies will be released in waves,<br />beginning in February, in all regions outside<br />of the United States, Canada and Japan. HBO Max previously secured the U.S.<br />streaming rights to Studio Ghibli in October<br />2019, and will be available in spring 2020. Netflix is set to subtitle the movies in 28 languages and<br />provide new dubs for the movies in up to 20 languages.
