Derek Jeter Elected<br />to Baseball Hall of Fame On Jan. 21, longtime New York<br />Yankees captain Derek Jeter was<br />chosen for the baseball Hall of Fame. Jeter, who played all 20 of<br />his seasons with the Yankees<br />after being drafted in 1992,<br />is a 14-time All Star. He has a total of 3,465 career hits, has played<br />in a record 158 playoff games and helped lead<br />the Yankees to five World Series crowns. Prior to the voting, Jeter said he<br />experienced a lot of “anxiety,”<br />as the Hall of Fame decision<br />was “out of [his] control.” Derek Jeter, via ESPN As it turns out, Jeter was only one<br />vote away from being a unanimous pick. He is now the recipient<br />of the second highest<br />voting percentage ever,<br />with 99.7 percent. That’s just above Ken Griffey Jr.’s 99.3 percent<br />and just below Mariano Rivera’s 100 percent.
