Australia’s fire-stricken state of Queensland saw heavy rainfalls on Sunday.<br />The precipitation dampened some of the fires that have razed 2.5 million hectares of land since September.<br />The much-needed rain brought some relief, but the wet weather also caused major flooding in areas.<br />Some areas received a quarter of the annual average rainfall, according to Reuters.<br />The state’s Bureau of Meteorology reported that coastal areas experienced up to 6.3 inches of rain in 24-hours.
