Snowfall aftermath as several parts of Kashmir still cut off

Several remote villages in the south of Kashmir remain completely cut off from the district headquarters due to heavy snowfall.<br /><br />Footage, recorded on Monday (January 27), shows snow accumulated on the road sides of Alipura and Hurpora villages, making it difficult for residents to leave their homes.<br /><br />Visuals show heavy snowfall where the houses across the district are covered, while one man works to clear his car complete encased in snow. <br /><br />According to local reports, villagers are demanding immediate clearance of roads, and restoration of power and water supplies in the area.<br /><br />Sonam Lotus, the director of the meteorological department Jammu & Kashmir, said weather conditions will remain dry until mid-February when temperature will show a steady rise.
