Amusing footage shows locals taking part in boxing matches while balancing on a pole over a river.<br /><br />The activity, known locally as 'sea boxing' or Muay Thalay, was held yesterday (January 27) in Phayao Province, northern Thailand.<br /><br />Competitors have to edge forward along the bamboo beam then punch their opponent until they fall into the water. <br /><br />Footage shows the Muay Thai boxing enthusiasts, a fun variation of the country's national sport, wear boxing gloves and life jackets as they compete against each other.<br /><br />People are eliminated over several rounds until the last person to have stayed dry is declared the winner.<br /><br />The annual water sports festival also sees locals stage rowing boat races and colourful dances on the Kwan Phayao lake.
