A craftsman in Vietnam is able to use fruits and leaves to make sculptures of dragons and phoenixes.

The man's name is Trinh Hoang Anh, who hails from Binh Duong province, and was filmed here on December 31, 2019.

His crafts include dragons and phoenixes, which are two animals that popularly signify festivals and weddings in Vietnam.

According to Hoang Anh, the main materials for shaping the dragon phoenix are pineapple leaves, chilli and coconut. These leaves are used to make dragon bodies and phoenix feathers.

After finishing the body, fruits like oranges, dragon fruits, bananas, apples are added to the body of the dragon and phoenix.

The entire process takes at least 2 to 3 hours for each animal. Large dragons and phoenixes will take longer.

The dragon and phoenix-shaped sculptures cost from $200 minimum depending on the size and amount of fruit used. There are dragons and phoenixes that, after being shaped, can sell for more than $1,000 USD.
