A baby monkey became in a net used to protect a TV antenna dish on the roof of a house in east India on January 30.<br /><br />The incident took place in Jagatsinghpur, Odisha. The mother monkey and a troop of 12 other monkeys tried to free the baby but failed to disentangle the netting. <br /><br />However, they stood guard in the area and tried to attack anyone who tried to get close.<br /><br />A group of local men managed to chase away the monkeys and cut the net to free the baby monkey.<br /><br />As soon as the baby was left on the ground, its mother, keeping an anxious watch from a coconut tree, came rushing down. She ran to her baby, picked it up and quickly disappeared into the trees.<br /><br />Shakti Santosh Ray, who filmed the union of mother and baby monkey, said: "It was very touching to see the mother monkey taking her baby back. It was a treat to watch."
