A streaker who hopped a fence and made a dash across a rugby pitch wearing only his socks has won a free month's stay at a luxury resort for his efforts.

Tama Jake Joseph, 21, ran across Forsyth Barr Stadium in Dunedin, New Zealand on Friday during a match between the Highlanders and the Sharks.

Fans and players could be seen laughing and cheering as the streaker ran across the pitch with '#Puklife' written across his torso before he was tackled by security.
However New Zealand police said they have now charged a 21-year-old man, believed to be Joseph, with offensive behaviour in relation to the incident.

'Police in general discourage such behaviour and urge members of the public to consider the consequences of their actions,' a spokesperson said.

'A few moments of infamy on social media is not worth the risk of possible charges.'

The streaker will appear in Nelson District Court on Wednesday.
But in a video posted to the streaker's Facebook page he did not appear to be worried.

'Just got out of the cells,' he said.

'And that is how you get free festival tickets and a trip away overseas.'

Mullins has now opened up the streaking competition again for the Chiefs and Crusaders match on Saturday night.

In 2018, Mullins held a similar competition that saw another streaker take to the field naked before they were tackled by security.

Although the streaker faced up to a $5,000 fine at the time he said it was worth it to win the free holiday.
